Unbridled Enthusiast is a diary – detailing struggles, methodologies, recipes, and thoughts through the journey of achieving a healthier lifestyle. It is also a blog dedicated to the discussion of news and literature related to the topic of health and fitness.
At Unbridled Enthusiast, we do not believe in fad dieting, weight loss aids, and “low fat”, “no fat”, “light”, “diet” marked foods – none of that is good for you. We’re convinced that the American people will eat rat poison (and we do in a lot of cases) as long as the calorie and fat count suits our meal goals. We want to “get back to basics” by eating whole, unprocessed, natural (and naturally low in fat) foods, and exercise – the sure way to achieve a healthy body and mind. We are also human and realize that in the land of overabundance, indulgence, cheap and over-processed widely available food, it is not always easy to make the right decision. We are here to support each other.

Unbridled Enthusiasts’ Bio
“Hi, I’m Yelena, I’m 27 and I live in San Francisco. I have finally reached a point in my life where I am no longer OK with how I look and feel. I got to this point by being lazy, indulgent, and just plain careless about what I put in my body. Making the necessary changes in my diet weren’t completely fueled by a great desire to lose weight, however. I wanted to focus on being healthy and saving myself from potential diseases that are linked to weight issues. Recently, I started reading a lot of literature about the eating habits of the American nation, which was an eye opener in its own right. After learning that a lot of the food we eat to day contains more chemistry than the class I took in High School and that it’s linked to a lot of deadly diseases plaguing us today, it became very clear that I need to pay attention to what I eat. It goes a lot further than losing weight by cutting calories, eating a “high protein, low carb” diet, or gorging on appetite suppressants, the “sure way to cut that belly fat!”. My mission is to change my lifestyle and achieve the level of fitness I always desired. Transitioning from an undisciplined way of life to a healthy way of life will be a tough, ongoing process. This is the reason I started this website – to help, inspire, and educate myself, but also keep myself in check. In the process I am hoping to help and inspire others as well.”
